which diffuser scent is right for your room?

two diffusers

if you've ever opened our diffuser collection, decided you love three of them and then somehow ended up more confused than when you started… welcome to the club 🤣

the good news? there are no scent police. but thinking about how you want a room to feel is a pretty good place to start

once you have a sense of that, it's usually easier to narrow it down to your perfect scent

how to read a scent profile

the diffusers are described by their fragrance notes, plus a word that's our way of trying to describe it (e.g. paradise island smells like...bliss)! 🤣

scent profiles are made up of three types of notes:

  • top notes - the first scent you smell; this is the one that grabs your attention and shouts "I'm here!"

  • heart notes - the core character of the fragrance that emerges as the top notes fade; this is the main personality (think Beyoncé standing centre stage in a gold-sequin corset paired with tasselled cowboy chaps in Destiny's Child...)

  • base notes - the final scent that provides undertones and depth; this is the one that quietly whispers "I'm still here"

is this for you, or a shared space?

so, which diffuser scent is right for your room? start with: where is this diffuser going? hallway, bathroom, living room?

if it's for a room that's your own sanctuary, just choose whichever scent calls out to you the most; if it's for a room where other people spend time, you could choose a best-seller that everyone loves (or still just buy whichever scent you prefer! 😁)

one household scent, or one per room?

there's no rule that says you need a single "house scent" - you could just as easily choose one diffuser for a hallway or living room and a different one for a bedroom or bathroom (or, if you're like us, a different scent for every room!)

if this is your first diffuser, start with the room you spend the most time in, then build your collection from there once you have a better sense of what you like
