our environmental choices
right from the beginning, making positive environmental choices has been part of how we’ve built honey & me... and that won’t change as we grow

we know that making and sending beautiful products has an environmental impact
we’re not going to pretend otherwise. what we can do is make thoughtful choices about the materials we use, the suppliers we work with, the packaging we use, and the way honey & me grows
we won't claim to be perfect. we make the best choices we can now, and keep looking for better ones as we go
our primary choice is to work with UK suppliers
there's lots of reasons we love doing this: it helps us build closer relationships with the people behind the ingredients and materials we use, gives us greater visibility over our supply chain, and avoids unnecessarily sourcing things from the other side of the world when a good UK option is available
not everything can be sourced locally, but keeping our supply chain closer to home is something we actively consider when we choosing suppliers
beautiful packaging matters to us, opening a honey & me order should still feel special!
but we also think about what happens to that packaging afterwards...
we choose recyclable packaging wherever practical and try to avoid unnecessary layers, plastics, and bits that look lovely for five minutes but have nowhere useful to go once your parcel has been opened
we have purposely sourced paper packaging tape, recyclable boxes, recyclable protective shredded paper, and recyclable postcards (all from UK suppliers)
we even use recycled label paper for our safety labels!
our candle and diffuser vessels are far too lovely to be thrown away without a second thought!
once cleaned safely, the glass can be reused around your home: a little pot, tiny vase, pen holder... or something much more imaginative than anything we've thought of 😂
and when their second life eventually comes to an end, the glass can be recycled
our candles and diffusers are made in small batches in the UK
aside from helping us keep a close eye on quality, making in smaller quantities means we can adapt and respond quickly to market changes and new products
we’d rather make thoughtfully, replenish when needed, and keep learning as we grow
always looking for better
we don’t think environmental responsibility is something you can tick off a list and declare finished
as honey & me grows, we’ll keep reviewing our packaging, suppliers, materials and processes to see where better choices can be made
it's about asking better questions, making deliberate choices, and remembering thats lots of tiny decisions eventually add up to something bigger
some changes might be small, others might change the way we do things completely
either way, we’d rather keep learning and improving than pretend we’ve already got everything perfectly figured out
