candle care

always be mindful of your safety and the safety of those around you when burning candles

below are some key safety rules to follow when burning candles:

  • never leave a candle burning unattended

  • keep candles out of reach of children and pets

  • remove all packaging before using your candle

  • do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire

  • keep candles away from flammable materials, sources of heat, overhanging objects and polished surfaces

  • place candles in an upright position on a secure, heat resistant surface

  • never move a burning candle

  • be aware, candle containers may become hot during use

  • do not touch or move a burning candle once lit

  • do not move the candle holder/container once wax is liquid, allow for wax to completely cool and harden

  • do not place candles in a draft

  • extinguish a candle immediately if it smokes, flickers repeatedly or the flame becomes too high

  • extinguish the candle with a snuffer, taking care not to damage the wick. always snuff out the flame, do not blow out

  • keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring

  • if the flame contacts the side of the container, never allow the candle to remain burning

  • always leave at least a 20cm space between burning candles

  • never allow a candle to burn for longer than 4 hours

  • never use a candle if there is damage to the container

  • you must remove the burnt wood off your wick in between burns - simply just pinch the black wood with two fingers, lightly wiggle, and snap off what is easily removed

  • do not allow the candle to burn down completely

  • stop using candle completely when approximately 10mm of wax remains

notes:

  • not all scented candles reach a full melt pool on first, second or third burns

  • as the flame burns down the candle, any wax that remains on the sides is gently melted, ensuring each candle creates a great scent

  • our candles use 100% natural wax and natural wooden wicks, which can mean after burning the wax colour may change slightly and become dimpled - this is completely normal for natural candles

additional tips:

  • when lighting for the first time, always allow the candle to burn for 3 to 4 hours, this will allow wax to pool evenly for the duration of its burn time

  • when relighting the wood wick, use a match or extended lighter and tilt 45 degrees to ensure all the wood is touching the flame

  • once extinguished, leave the candle for at least 2 hours before moving or relighting

diffuser care

always be mindful of your safety and the safety of those around you when using diffusers

below are some key safety rules to follow when using diffusers:

  • the liquid contained within the diffuser bottle must always be kept away from flames or heat

  • keep out of the reach of children, pets or areas where they can be knocked over

  • never swallow the diffuser liquid; if consumed, seek immediate medical attention

  • do not allow the diffuser liquid to touch your skin or eyes

  • always wash your hands after touching the product

  • flammable liquid - never try to light the reeds

  • avoid direct contact with furniture, fabrics & finished wood surfaces

  • take appropriate care in disposing of any remaining liquid at the end of the diffusers life

how to use your diffuser:

  1. prepare the diffuser: unscrew the cap, remove the cardboard stopper, and screw the cap back on to the bottle

  2. insert reeds: carefully place the reeds into the liquid

  3. adjust scent intensity: you can control the scent strength by adjusting the number of reeds - use fewer reeds for a subtle aroma or more  reeds for a stronger, more noticeable fragrance

  4. flip the reeds for freshness: for a scent boost, flip the reeds every 1–2 weeks, this refreshes the fragrance diffusion and helps maintain a consistent aroma

  5. protect your surfaces: always place your diffuser on a protective plate to avoid spills or stains on delicate surfaces

  6. ensure the reeds do not touch painted, polished, or synthetic surfaces, as well as fabrics, wallpaper, or curtains, to prevent potential damage

  7. avoid direct sunlight or nearby heat sources like radiators or windows, heat can cause the oils to evaporate faster, affecting the scent and longevity
